Take better control of the money you earn. While running a home-based career or business, don’t forget that all of the money you earn lawfully belongs to you. There is no middle man – any revenue you make goes right into your pocket. Although this means paying for any and all initial expenses may rest on your shoulders, it is far more financially advantageous in the long run. You have the freedom to choose what to do with all of that money you make. While spending it is of course an option, perhaps better alternatives include incorporating new resources, saving it for prospective enterprises, or funding it back into your business to increase your earnings.

Get rid of commute times and associated fees. Since you will be working at home, you no longer need to endure the frustration that can result from having to commute to and from the workplace. There is less pressure put on yourself, your time schedule, and your car. Watch in appreciation as you pay less gas and repair on your vehicle. In addition to being a fantastic benefit time-wise to and from work, there is also the supplemental benefit of not having to expose your car (or yourself, for that matter) to any harsh elements encountered on the road.

Establish your own convenient work hours. You are your own boss, in a sense, as you plan and create your schedules that fits best into your time frame. You know that maddening alarm clock you have sitting on your nightstand? Take it and throw it out the window – or at least shut it off. For those who aren’t morning people, afternoon “meetings” and other business hours can be allocated to the evening. Whether it’s watching a baseball game or visiting a daughter’s piano recital, you will have the opportunity to set your own hours that adjust to your valuable time. While you still need to make sure you are clocking in a profitable number of work hours each day to make sure you keep your business up and running, as long as that strong work ethic is maintained, it is your prerogative to decide your working hours.
